Volunteer for Trail Watch at Lake Mead

Trail Watch Lake Mead near Boulder City, NVI happened upon a flyer hanging in Starbucks and thought I’d pass it along for those folks (like me) who want to spend a little less time online in 2013 and a little more time outside!

Here’s what the flyer says:

Calling all hikers and bicyclists! The Lake Mead National Recreation Area Trail Watch Program is looking for volunteers!

Trail Watch volunteers promote safe and appropriate trail use by 1) Providing information and assistance; 2) Observing and documenting safety issues; 3) Assisting the National Park Service staff in keeping trails safe and well maintained.

The program is a great opportunity for those who hike or cycle at Lake Mead or the River Mountains Loop Trail to have a positive impact while enjoying the trail!

Interested? Contact 702-293-8717 or lame_volunteer_coordinator@nps.gov.”

[And of course, we shall refrain from chuckling at the amusing choice of email address, right? Right!]
