I think that’s the phrase that Mary and Tyson Smith are hoping they’ll hear Boulder City’s youth’s saying around town after they get their new business open – Soda At The Nest.
Located in the former B of A building, they’re at 900 Nevada Way and plan to be ready for their first customers sometime next month. Pictured left to right, are Dodger, Mary, Ripkin, Sweden and dad Tyson on the end. (Do we think we see a few baseball fans here…?)
Mary tells us, the concept for Nest is a modern-day soda shop that will be just a fun place for kids to hang out and relax after school that is safe and family oriented.
Beverages will be offered in all sorts of cool sounding concoctions – Pebble Ice Soda, Lime Rickey Soda, fancy Pink Lemonades, and Butterbeer, from Harry Potter fame to name a few. Now mind you, I’m not a parent myself, nor do I play one on TV…but all of that sounds pretty fun to my taste buds!
They also say they’ll have some baked goods in the way of home made cookies and other seasonal yummy-ness for sale, and DO plan to make use of the old Bank drive thru zone, so families on the go can pick up drinks and munchies and hit the road.
Many of us in town have met Tyson and Mary over the years as the owners of Boulder City Mortuary, who provide wonderful, compassionate care in that capacity. But we’re thrilled to see what they can do as a family with this new venture. We’ll look forward to seeing them open their doors soon, and wish them the very best!
