Sad news from the Lake Mead third water intake construction project – a worker was killed there yesterday afternoon and another one injured.
An early report I saw posted to Twitter by a tv news channel reporter read that the tunnel had collapsed and workers were trapped inside, but this was apparently not the case — the workers were struck by a stream of pressurized liquid grout and no one was ever trapped.
More details of the accident are in an article on the Las Vegas Review Journal’s website this morning, which you can read by clicking here.
Our heartfelt sympathies to the family of the worker who passed away and hopes for a speedy recovery to the injured worker!
