You Are Not Alone Program Receives Recognition from Governor

We most recently told you about the Boulder City Police Department's You Are Not Alone program HERE. This special program checks in on the elderly to make sure they are doing okay. The program was also recently featured on Fox 5 Las Vegas. Word made it to the governor's office about the good work being done here and today, Sonny Vinuya, the Southern Nevada Outreach Director for the Office of Governor Joe Lombardo, came to the police department to honor the volunteers of the program. He presented Cherie Anderson with a Certificate of Recognition which read:

We recognize and applaud your commitment to making a difference by providing companionship, support, and hope to the senior community. Your dedication has touched countless lives and strengthened the fabric of our community through kindness, generosity, and a genuine concern for' the well-being of others. I wish you continued success and many more years of meaningful service in our community.

Cherie responded, “This is for all of you,” she said, pointing at the program volunteers and police officers in attendance. “I love Boulder City and I love what we do with this program.”
