Beer Zombies, an indoor/outdoor taproom, is ready for business on Nevada Way at Wyoming Street (567 Nevada Way)! We recently met with owner, Chris Jacobs, to talk about the new craft beer spot that opened this week. On our visit there, we also had the pleasure of meeting Chris’s family: his beautiful wife Raquel and his sweet daughter, Juniper Moon. Chris grew up in California and moved to the Las Vegas area in 1995.
Beer Zombies currently operates draft rooms in Nevada, Utah and Texas – with other Nevada locations in the Las Vegas and Summerlin areas. The decision to open a location in Boulder City was an easy one as Chris and his family had frequented Boulder City fairly regularly since 2010. When the current property had a vacancy, he decided the time was right to create a new craft beer experience in town and the idea took off!
They recently wrapped up their annual Beer Zombies Beer Fest which looked like a lot of fun. This annual event briefly went on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic but this year’s event was well-attended and participants enjoyed a lot of games, food, and of course, BEER.
The vibe of the place is definitely, well, unique! One of the first things you notice, is the huge zombie mural on the wall facing the intersection and that aesthetic continues inside the building, where you’ll find a heavy splash of black paint, pounding music, and their famous Beer Zombies cans and bottles. These carry some really cool can art, and you can check out some of them HERE and HERE at the business’s Instagram accounts. They were in the process of installing multiple televisions throughout the venue during our visit as well. They had also retooled the outdoor portion of the property to include more covered seating.
They will be offering their Boomstick (Blonde), Zombie Duck Hunter (West Coast IPA), a Rotating Hazy IPA (currently End 2 End Burners), and Zombie hWhip (Fruited Sour) always on tap, while also including twelve other drafts comprised of Beer Zombies collaborations, local beers and beers from all over the world. Hungry? You’re just steps away from Queen Tacos, the mobile taco spot we featured a couple weeks ago (HERE). Eventually, they will have a speakeasy in the rear of the property with a larger selection of of specialty drinks for customers to enjoy. They also hope to include a second food option for weekends so stay tuned for that!
Chris plans to be a contributing member of the business population and be involved in local events. Be on the lookout for collaborations with other businesses in the city throughout the year (we can’t wait to see what they have planned for Halloween!). They will have live music on the weekends for customers to enjoy and special events throughout the year. Join them soon for their soft opening and look for a grand opening in the near future.
