We are soooo excited to get to introduce you to Ken Simpson, who is the owner of what will soon be opening up in the former Evan’s Old Town Grille, which will now become The Dam Bistro!
You all know that this beloved local restaurant was sold as Evan and family retired from the business back in February 2020. (Remember back then…? Before the world went nuts?) At the time of course we told you how the new owners, Grant Turner and Bret Runion had purchased the building with the intention of leasing it to an new operator, which we shared with you back HERE.
And…here you are! We met with Ken last week to get to know him and learn more about his plans. He’s been a chef in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, and knew Bret, which is how we came to this arrangement.
Ken says his focus will be on creating really great meals that are high-quality, but in a fun, relaxed low-key atmosphere. The menu will feature a good variety it sounds like, everything from steak and seafood, to Italian and Asian flavors as well. The full bar will feature fine wines, beer and of course cocktail concoctions we can’t wait to try. And Ken tells us that he makes all of his food himself, so we are just knowing we’re going to LOVE it here!
Ken lives in BC and is an avid mountain biker, which is what drew him to Boulder City. He plans to be open sometime before Thanksgiving. Hours will start with 4:30pm – 9:30pm, Wednesday – Sunday, and then has plans for a weekend brunch as well. And in case you missed it – he’s hiring kitchen help too!
We’re so excited to see this place open, and can’t wait to see you there Boulder City!
