August 12th: Perseid Meteor Shower Party
Join the Lake Mead Institute and rangers at Nevada Telephone Cove Aug. 12 beginning at 9pm (and going all night) to share the experience of the Perseid Meteor Shower.

August 15th: Ranger Chat – Public Lands … Treasures of Southern Nevada

August 15th: Sunset Yoga
Join a ranger at Rocky Point Overlook and enjoy the view of the Boulder Basin while doing yoga poses and light stretching Aug. 15. Connect with the beauty of nature and natural sounds. Please bring water and a yoga mat. Call 702-293-8990, for more information and to make a reservation.
August 22nd: Ranger Chat: The Mojave Desert – A Magical Land
Stop by the Lake Mead Visitor Center at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 22 to learn about the plants and animals that call this vibrant desert home.
From the desert bighorn sheep found in the rugged mountains to the smallest beavertail cactus, life is abundant and thriving in what many think is a barren landscape. Call 702-293-8990, for more information.
August 22nd: Campfire Stories & Songs

August 29th: Ranger Chat: Outdoor Fun-A Child’s Nature Perspective

August 29th: Full Moon Hike
Join rangers to watch the full moon appear over the mountains and learn the importance of night skies through this unique glimpse of nature. Hike along the Historic Railroad Trail and experience the beauty of the night sky.
