You all know this guy! Tomorrow you’ll see Dale Ryan cookin’ bratwurst in the park for Wurst Festival, but beyond that, all of you know (or if you don’t you should!) the famous Christmas House on Fifth! For the past 22 years Dale and Dyanah have been our hosts for one of our most beloved traditions for the Holidays with their gorgeous display at their home at 1525 Fifth Street.
It’s a LOT of work, and we so appreciate their willingness to put in the incredible hours and time it takes to pull this display together. This year, Dale has let us know that frankly, they might be ready to trim it back a bit in the future. So, he’s been a bit slow about getting the preparations in place for this year’s display, but he is committed to making this year another great event!
So to be clear: THIS HOLIDAY SEASON FOR DECEMBER, 2025, THE CHRISTMAS HOUSE WILL BE FULLY DECKED OUT AS YOU HAVE COME TO KNOW AND LOVE IT!
What they ARE saying, is that from 2026 moving forward, maybe they will start to scale back and take it on a year-by-year basis.
In talking to Dale and Dyanah both, you see their clear love and pride for what their home has become for Boulder City. People travel in from all over the valley to appreciate this embodiment of the Christmas spirit! Families take their annual Christmas card photos in front of their home. Kiddos run wild and with big sparkling eyes take in something they know is truly special. Buses of visitors come from afar and they estimate that each year they have some 25,000-35,000 visitors to their home each Holiday Season.
But, it is also many, many, many months of work in both setting it up and tearing it down. What it means for them is that every single night in December, their time is here. Spoken for. Captivated by all of us. AND THEY LOVE IT! But, it’s a lot. So, this is their way of sharing with us that life is life and sometimes we are all entitled to make some adjustments. And we are obligated I think, to be gracious and supportive for all they HAVE given to our community.
So, watch for more updates as we get closer to the local Holiday plans we know Boulder City has happening each and every December. We’ll keep you posted as we always do.
