We are so excited for this much anticipated opening of Boulder City’s newest restaurant! Located at the former Tap location (704 Nevada Way) adjacent to the Best Western, we now have a new dining and drinking establishment – Your Mom’s Italian Kitchen and Bar.
The Grand Opening is slated for next Tuesday, July 1 and they have already concluded a soft opening, but they are kicking open their doors partially starting today at 11:00am. Proprietor Alex Gonzalez who you met earlier this year tells us they are opening the bar side at 11am with a small menu:
- Sandwiches
- 2 different salads
- 2 appetizers
- And a few desserts
- And all the cocktails (pay attention, their craft cocktails are gonna be special!)
We visited with Alex and the team last week. They are all family owned and are working hard to create something special. The location has always had two sides of the venue – on the left is an ideal bar/restaurant and then the right side is an open seating area that has had a variety of uses, but will now be their dining room.
The decor is giving a nod to Boulder City and the history of the dam but also pulling in the family’s classic Italian roots, as many of the railroad workers who helped build the railway for the dam were Italian immigrants. The decor has fantastic upgrades without being formal or fussy. In other words, dress up if you wish but board shorts and flip flops are welcome!
The menu will be a solid selection of modern takes on Italian classics, plus a few steak and seafood options and a few flatbread pizzas. The emphasize a full and creative bar, along with 40 beers and a much needed wine selection.
We’re excited and we know you are too! We remind us all to give them some runway and be patient, since every new venture with an all-new establishment and staff needs some time to gel and work out the kinks. So be forgiving of any missteps but also share your thoughts on the menu, as Alex welcomes the feedback as they grow. We’ll see you there some night soon, Boulder City!
