We didn’t report on this before, but over at 2 Wheels (567 Nevada Way) there is one of 2 new businesses opening their doors soon. The first of which will be a Taco truck, opening this Saturday Sept. 1st of Labor Day Weekend!
We met with Kirk Brooks who’ll be running this joint a few days ago. He’s been in the restaurant business since he was 19 years-old he tells us, and while he’s cooked many different types of food, Mexican is one of his favorites.
Everything will be made from scratch he tells us, from the salsa all the way along. He will feature of course street tacos as well as hard-shell tacos, quesadillas, burritos, chimichangas and other specialties.
Hours will vary by season and weather, but his goal is to open at 10:30 and run in the evening until 2 Wheels closes for the night, especially on the weekends. So that means for those of you wanting some late-night grub and maybe a cold beer – this is gonna be your spot!
We have to share that serendipitously, we’re actually already a lover of his food. I discovered with talking with him that we both had lived in San Diego and he was manager of a well known (and extremely good) deli shop there called The Gourmet Bagger. Small world!
Anyhow, we’ll look forward to seeing you all there to give this a try soon!
