Thank Our Heroes On September 11th

9-11 Thank You Project Boulder City, Nevada

We love this project – it’s just so us – so Boulder City.

Heaven knows that all of our police officers and other first responders could use some love and support these days. And remembering 9-11 and those we lost that day is so important. Those who survived and most especially all of those who put their lives on the line to help others should never, ever be forgotten.

So, on Friday evening September 11th, from 5pm – 8pm at Escalante Park (1007 Arizona St. between the Police Station and the Boulder Bowl) you will have a small group of volunteers set up with three boxes. Show your support for our Boulder City Police Dept. the Boulder City Fire Dept. and our Medical Professionals with a card, note or drawing showing your support for our local heroes!

After everyone has dropped off their well-wishes, all of these cards and letters will be delivered to all of the appropriate folks. Imagine each of these them getting a big pile of letters and cards from all of Boulder City!

We think this is a PERFECT way for our school-aged children to make something to honor our local first responders, and anyone who wishes to share a card or letter of thanks.

Kids will receive a sticker when they drop something off, and also they have 360 blue light bulbs to hand out as well, completely for FREE! Note, this is just meant to be a quick drop off, and not a gathering.

We talked to organizer David Hancock, and he tells us, “This started out as an individual effort and got some local organization support, and we’re so grateful! We’re just a group of citizens who wanted to let our local heroes know we love them and support them wholeheartedly!”

David wanted to be sure to thank a few organizations that have helped them pull this off. Notably Pride and Purity, the Rotary Club of Boulder City, and the Chamber of Commerce, and a special thank you to all our public leaders who were willing work with and support the project.
