Fan Michelle Abercrombie Christensen asked what they’ve been building behind Albertsons and fellow Fan William Sylvanie answered that it’s the “new Bureau of Reclamation building for the government”. Heck, that’s more than I knew…so I went and took a photo for ya’ll.
I shot an email over to my “guy who knows more than me” (um, that’s Scott Hansen in Public Works) to confirm and he did just that…it is indeed the Bureau’s new building & is supposed to get LEED-certified.
What is LEED-certified, you ask? Here’s what Wikipedia says:
Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies intended to improve performance in metrics such as energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
So when someone refers to the “green building” behind Albertson’s…you’ll know not to answer with “uh-uh, it’s blue and yellow…” Hah…just messin’ with ya! – K
