The Big Clean Event in Boulder City

The Big Clean Boulder City, Nevada

We’ve been excited to share this event with you – because it seems all of us accumulate so much darn stuff that it’s hard to get rid of!

So get yourselves ready for a huge COMMUNITY CLEAN UP day on Saturday, March 24th.

Inspired by other communities around us, Boulder City will now have it’s first city-wide clean up day where you can load up all kinds of difficult to dispose of items and take them to a central location. Just drive through and drop them off!

Here’s what you need to know:

1. We highly recommend you PRINT THIS LIST of the kinds of items you can bring, or cannot bring, and we’ve got a summary for you below:

OK TO BRING:

Batteries, books and CD’s/DVD’s – they’ll be recycled, cell phones and computers, other small electronics, household goods, medications, paint, paper – they’ll secure and shred, pet supplies, power tools, residential oil, and tires (4 tires/household).

SORRY, THEY CANNOT ACCEPT:

Air conditioning units, CRT, commercial oil or grease, refrigerators or freezers, medical waste, tube TV’s or tube computer monitors.

2. Make a Plan! Take a look around at what you can get rid of at your home. But more than that – talk to your neighbors and friends to share resources such as pick up trucks.

This event has the potential to be a big show of community pride. If you have a neighbor who you know can’t take care of some of their non-working or unused items, offer to help if you can.

3. On March 24th from 9am to 1pm, head to the parking lot at Bravo Field, which is on the corner of Avenue B and 6th Street. You’ll drive through to the areas where your items can be dropped off. Volunteers will be on hand to help direct traffic and unload.

This event has a lot of folks to thank: local resident Nanci Waters who had the idea and brought it to Chamber of Commerce CEO, Jill Lagan, at the first Think Tank event. From there, they got the Community Development Director Michael Mays involved, who helped partner and learn from the City of Henderson, who have done similar events in the past.

And from there, they have other organizations involved who will help recycle and repurpose items back into our community where appropriate, or shred or dispose of other items and trash. Additional questions can be directed to the Community Development Dept. at the City, at 702-293-9282.

The organizers really want to see the community come together to make this first event a big success! We know we’ll be making a list to bring – so we’ll see you there!
