Here is what the Browder Building (formerly Mel’s Diner) is looking like these days! Some community members (namely Pepper Coombs and Connie Ferraro) got together with Charles Lawson (the building’s owner) and not only got the green light to paint the buildings to a color that blended more with the other shops on the street, but to use the plywood as canvases for some murals.
You can see the start of one of the murals and the sketch of the next one coming up in the photos below. We understand that the former Scratch House location is next up for a makeover, too.
