The numbers of COVID-19 cases continue to rise nationally, and in our area as well. In response, the Boulder City Fire Department, (located at 1101 Elm Street) are extending the weekly testing clinics throughout August. Every Tuesday, from 8am – 11am you can be tested without a doctor’s order. Availability is limited to possible staffing coordination, and a reservation is required.
You must be a Boulder City resident. Call 702-293-9256 to make an appointment every Monday – Thursday between the hours of 8am and 5pm. The tests are free of charge.
These are the less invasive nasal swab tests, and are to determine if you have the virus. This is not a blood test to determine if you have antibodies.
“We are doing what residents of Boulder City have always done: looking out for each other,” said Boulder City Mayor, Kiernan McManus. “Testing is important as some people who have COVID-19 may not show symptoms but can still spread this highly contagious virus. Help keep your family, friends, co-workers and those that provide service to us safe and healthy.”
As of August 7th, Boulder City has a total of 136 confirmed cases. On July 4th we had 66 cases locally, so that is more than doubled in just a little over a month. You can see the numbers daily at this link HERE from the Southern Nevada Health District. Typically on work days they provide updated numbers at 4pm.
We encourage everyone to please be sensible and safe and to do our part to stop the spread of this virus for the good of us all.
