We’re thrilled to see owner Tara Bertoli get the other half of her business open and already loved, so if you haven’t been – check out the digs at the Boulder City Co. Store, located at 525 Avenue B!
Not only is it is a place to shop for local gifts, clothing and other merchandise, it’s a place to hang, relax and chill out with friends, even play a game! There are several seating areas with comfy couches and chairs to chat, read a book, or whatever you feel like doing, and the whole store has this fun vibe to it.
As with everything Tara has done, the details are what make it. There is her father’s (Dr. Ted Leon) 1928 DeSoto inside. It doesn’t work, but all the original parts are still in it. Tara tells us, ” I was inspired by the physical items that the dam workers would have used to get the job done.” So the colors of the store and the goods she sells are all related back to the raw organic materials that make up Hoover Dam: cement, bricks, water, tires, chains and earth.
Also on display in their front windows are photos and artifacts from the Boulder City/Hoover Dam Museum.
The store sells apparel for men, women and children up to 3x. She has T-shirts, sweatshirts (our fav!), beanies, hats, drink ware, holiday decor and gifts, as well as some local food-ery items too!
So…what might be going on over the upcoming weekend, you may ask?
On Black Friday she is opening her doors at 6am, and the first 10 people through the door will get a $15 Gift Certificate! Plus, she’ll be giving away t-shirts that day too (but just a few, so get there early!). Then on Shop Local Saturday, she will be open at 8am.
The Boulder City Co. Store will also be open the night of the parade, so she says to feel free to wander in, they’ll have hot drinks on hand, or you can just have a seat and enjoy your own beverage too!
We encourage everyone to swing in, buy, and support this new local business!
