UPDATE BELOW: NEW INFORMATION HAS BEEN ADDED
Clark County has now reversed it’s earlier policy of not releasing details of COVID-19 cases by region, and has now put up a new link that is displaying the number of cases by city/region, HERE. As you’ll see it shows that Boulder City has 18 confirmed cases in town.
Here’s what we don’t know: if these numbers include the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home located in Boulder City, or not. As of yesterday, they are now reporting a total of 16 cases in their midst, 1 Korean War Veteran who sadly passed away over a week ago, and 6 total residents, plus 9 total staff members, according to this Channel 8 News Article here.
One might logically think that the residents of the Veterans Home are considered residents of Boulder City for the above count. But what about the employees? Are they counted as being part of Boulder City’s total number, or not? It is likely that some or even all of them actually reside outside of Boulder, so are they part of the count where they live, or where they work?
So once again, while it is nice to see some data, we still find ourselves with unanswered questions. Again, stay safe, take this seriously and practice healthy disciplines as recommended by the CDC.
UPDATES: Clark County has also released more medical data as well as age and other case data for all of the currently identified active cases in the valley. You can see that information HERE.
What is interesting to note in the age data, is that the largest number of infected cases by far (41.29%) is ages 25-49, with the second highest group, ages 50-64 at 28.98%.
Here also is a newer map showing a breakdown by zip code.
