We’ve been watching the transition here at the former 2 Wheels spot, and decided it was time to give you the low-down on the haps at this favorite downtown outdoors location!
You’re going to ‘go a little loco’ for the delectable fresh street-inspired food featuring tacos, burritos and lots of pescatarian flare. That plus an assortment of beverages and that comfortable outdoor area we’ve all come to love on the corner of Wyoming and Nevada Way. Even during a pandemic and lots of changes over this past year, this spot has remained a local favorite.
So join us in giving a big warm “Hello” to Ervin Soto and this completely rebranded location – Mariscos El Soto Loco!
Mariscos in Spanish simply means – seafood, and that is Ervin’s specialty, Mexican-style seafood eats.
Ervin tells us that he retired from construction work in 2017. He happily got married and had moved down to Mexico when unfortunately he was also diagnosed with cancer.
He tells us he went through all of the needed treatments and was again healthy, and had relocated back into the Las Vegas area. But he said he still felt a bit off and was lacking purpose and a creative outlet. So, he said he simply thought about what he enjoyed doing, and one of those things was cooking this style of food. So after tinkering in his kitchen, he purchased his taco truck and took to the streets and was an instant hit!
Eventually his success had him cross paths with Milo Hurst (owner of the property) and the rest as they say, is history. Hours are 11am – 9pm, daily. Call for your reservation at (702)716-5303.
Also on site is the independently run ColdStone Creamery truck. Even in chilly weather, that brand of ice cream goodness is well loved, so we know that’ll be a hit too! Hours for that will be seasonal, and currently are 4pm – 8pm, daily.
We know that COVID-19 is raging in town, and that people have to stay safe and healthy. But do what you can to please patronize this business, and grab some grub for lunch or dinner sometime soon!
