With school starting on Monday, I thought ya’ll would like to know how much a ticket will set you back if you are caught speeding through the school/crossing zones…and it’s an OUCH!
With 30 pedestrian deaths on Nevada roads in just the first six months of 2012 – more than double what it was last year [source] — every parent would no doubt agree that enforcement of the speed limit in the school zone and these fine amounts are a good thing. And I’m confident everyone agrees that we don’t need to read in the paper that one of our fellow BC Peeps had their child injured or taken from them because of speeding, that’s for sure.
So, with that heavy thought, below are what a speeding ticket will set you back if you are caught zoomin’ through the school zone (not to mention what your insurance agent will have to say)! Remember that school and hence, enforcement starts on MONDAY.
MPH OVER SPEED LIMIT | BAIL (FINE) AMOUNT |
---|---|
1 MPH – 10 MPH OVER LIMIT | $272.00 |
11 MPH – 15 MPH OVER LIMIT | $302.00 |
16 MPH – 20 MPH OVER LIMIT | $412.00 |
21 MPH – 30 MPH OVER LIMIT | $522.00 |
31 MPH – 40 MPH OVER LIMIT | $937.00 |
41 MPH AND OVER | $1,137.00 |
