Did ya see the cool new recycle trucks come around this morning? They were neato.
Boulder City’s expanded citywide “no sort” recycling program has officially begun with recycling now available for single-family and multi-family residences, including apartments, mobile home parks and RV Parks, schools, parks and businesses.
The recycling program is what is known as “single stream” – meaning that homeowners no longer need to sort out their own recyclables into separate bins – just throw them all into the new container that was delivered to you in the last week or two and it will be sorted at the recycling facility.
On the original flyer that went around – the “paper milk/juice cartons” image was mistakenly over in the “not allowed” section – but I can see on BC Waste Free’s website (here) that it has now been moved over into the “allowed section” (see below) — so know that you CAN recycle your milk & juice containers.
Also – I found out that you may keep your old recycling bins if you wish…but if you don’t want them, please put them out with your new recycling container and they’ll take them away for you…AND RECYCLE THEM! Hah! [Click on the picture below for a larger, pdf version.]
