Hey, here’s something cool that came out of City Hall this week…Boulder City High School students will be developing television content for BCTV! Here’s the full story for ya:
“Community Development Department Director Brok Armantrout has worked with Boulder City High School Principal Kent Roberts to develop a partnership for broadcast content and mentoring of students interested in broadcasting.
BCHS has a television broadcast class that currently produces small student projects. They reached out to Mr. Armantrout to see if the students could expand their work to create 30 min long (and longer) programs that could then be aired on BCTV.
Planned content includes sporting events, interviews with teachers from all four schools in Boulder City (i.e. – “Teacher spotlight”), a school principal interview program, as well as assisting the City in creating new city content such as the State of the City address, parades, and other special events. Mentoring will include occasional classroom presentations by City staff on video pre and post production, interview techniques, how to formulate questions, and so on.
We are excited at the prospect of new local content to help our residents learn a bit more about our community and schools.”
