The City’s partnership with BC Waste Free on the first ever Christmas Tree Recycling Project seems to have been quite a success.
Residents could drop their trees off for free recycling at Bravo Field from December 26th through January 15th and an estimated 200 trees were collected into the roll off box. BC Waste Free then transported the trees to Henderson for chipping, which saved room in the City’s landfill.
Since curbside recycling collection didn’t occur for two weeks in a row (because those days fell on holidays), two recycling dumpsters were provided near the Christmas tree recycling and was also wildly popular. In fact, they were filled beyond capacity and emptied more than three times over the course of the nearly three weeks that they were available. Pretty clean and green, Boulder City!
