Well, we can’t believe it and our youngest residents are probably even more surprised, by summer is over and today is the first day of school! It’s an exciting time for most of the young people, so be on alert for little ones, especially around the schools. New school speed zone signs have been installed with the specific hours of the effective speed limit. You can see the hours in the photo above, but please be aware for children around schools at any time. During the school zone times, U-turns are prohibited anywhere in the zone, and you may not pass another vehicle while in the zone. These are new laws for 2022, which you can read about HERE.
Wondering which days are school days? Well, you can check Clark County School District’s calendar HERE. There are four teacher in-service days, the regular Thanksgiving, winter and spring holidays, and school will end, oddly, on Monday, May 22 this school year.
For a list of high school sporting events, you can go HERE to see the schedule, including the Homecoming game on Friday, September 30 versus Eldorado High School. To purchase tickets, please see the Banker at the high school.
We wish all the students, teachers, and administrators a great 2022-2023 school year! Go Mustangs! Go Cobras! Go Bobcats! Go Eagles!
