Local COVID-19 Testing Available Every Tuesday in July

Covid Testing Tuesdays In July Boulder City, NV

The numbers of COVID-19 cases continue to rise nationally, and in our area as well. In response, the Boulder City Fire Department, (located at 1101 Elm Street) will be hosting a series of testing clinics starting tomorrow, July 7th from 8am – 11am. Availability is limited to possible staffing coordination, and a reservation is required.

There is no cost for the test, and you do not need a doctor’s order. You must be a Boulder City resident. Call 702-293-9256 to make an appointment beginning Monday (today) July 6th between the hours of 8am and 5pm.

These are the less invasive nasal swab tests, and are to determine if you have the virus. This is not a blood test to determine if you have antibodies.

“We are doing what residents of Boulder City have always done: looking out for each other,” said Boulder City Mayor, Kiernan McManus. “Testing is important as some people who have COVID-19 may not show symptoms but can still spread this highly contagious virus. Help keep your family, friends, co-workers and those that provide service to us safe and healthy.”

Just to give you a few numbers – those up above are as of July 4th, 2020. It shows Boulder City with currently 66 total confirmed cases. (It is my understanding that these numbers do NOT include those at the Veterans Home, but I am working to confirm this.)

By comparison, on June 25th, just 10 days ago, we had 46 cases in Boulder City (See the chart HERE) and on June 15th, only 37 cases (See chart HERE). The numbers are on the rise throughout Clark County as well. I’m a bit of a nerd at heart, and I’ve watched the numbers daily as they started to become available back in late March. You can too, at this link HERE from the Southern Nevada Health District.

We encourage everyone to please be sensible and safe and to do our part to stop the spread of this virus for the good of us all.
