Summer Water Fun in Boulder City

Water Park in Boulder City, NevadaIt’s going to be time to decorate for Halloween if I wait for the temperature to break 100 degrees – which was the plan before this post on all the various water fun available this summer for Boulder City kids!

First, fast and free is the Water Park in Veteran’s Memorial Park, which is pictured on the left….fun for the kids to play in and and fun for the adults to sit around and wish we all had that much energy or squeeling ability!

Next – a host of activities that our awesome Parks and Rec Department offers – from free to fee.  Patty Sullivan from Parks & Rec was kind enough to send over some flyers for us — so I’ve posted them below for everyone:

Boulder City Nevada Pool Flyer 2011Boulder City Pool is Open!

Click on the image to the left to open the full flyers – but in summary, it says that the pool opened last weekend, will be open 7 days a week and will stay open until September 4th. But you need to call (702) 273-9286 for exact time. Seems there’s everything being offered – from a swim team (starting June 13th) and moonlight swims to private lessons and fitness classes. Nice.

Boulder City Toddler Swim Class 2011Free Toddler Swim Class

I’m a fan of this one because frankly, there’s too many sad stories on the news this time of year. The Boulder City Pool received a $1,500 grant for the second year in a row to provide free swimming lessons for non-swimmers ages 4 and under. Funding and space is limited – so be sure to get in touch with them asap at (702) 293-9286 if you are interested in taking advantage of this program. Click the image at the right to view the whole flyer.

Boulder City Youth Summer Sailing Classes 2011Youth Sailing Classes

Lake Mead Junior Sailing Academy is offering Youth Summer Sailing Classes for kids ages 8 to 18 through four weekly sessions of varying skill levels, starting June 13th. You should know the drill by now — but clicking the image on the left will take you to the full flyer!

Free Fishing Day June 2011Free Fishing Day

Last, but not least, free fishing day is always fun – it’s put on by the Nevada Department of Wildlife and will be held at Veterans’ Memorial Park next Saturday, June 11th from 8am – 11am (registration at 7:30am). Prizes, fishing instruction, casting lessons, water safety and more…you know what to do to find out more!
