…you can find such a cross-section of volunteers giving a helping hand to one of our own.
Boulder City Firefighter Walt West reached out to a few friends, who in turn reached out to a few more to put together a posse of volunteers to spend a few hours cleaning up an elderly Boulder City resident’s yard and house that had fallen into disrepair.
Being one of the “friends of a friend” – I was there to pitch in and grabbed a few photos. I also took down everyone’s names so I could give some props to just some of the folks that make living in Boulder City so awesome. The hard-working (and now very dirty) posse consisted of:
Representing the Boulder City Fire Department
Walt West – Boulder City Firefighter & Organizer
Cody Racine – Boulder City Firefighter
Charles Worth – Boulder City Firefighter
Brendon Featherly – Boulder City Firefighter
Representing the Rotary Club of Boulder City (aka Noon Rotary)
Beth Walker – Grandma Daisy’s
Cliff Walker – Pro Care Lawn Service
George Rosenbaum, D.D.S.
John Chase – American Sentry Insurance
Duncan McCoy – Boulder City Councilman
Lettie Zimmerman – Lend A Hand of Boulder City
Jeanne Donadio – Foothill High School Principal
& well, Me
Excellently representing the awesome youth of Boulder City
Jake Walker
Ian West
Zachary West
Huge props to Scott West of Blueline Painting for donating his services to repaint the car port and trim with paint graciously donated by Ace Hardware.
And last, but certainly not least – Brian Buhl and his crew from Boulder Tree Service were the advance team that came in and trimmed all of the trees and bushes – front and back…an enormous job and very much appreciated!
All in all – a great way to spend a Saturday morning…and let’s be honest – can you ever really go wrong with a day that starts out among four good lookin’ firemen? I think not!
