Officer Grasso’s column in the Boulder City Review last week mentioned the Medicine Disposal Box over at the Boulder City Police Department, so I went to check it out for ya.
It’s a handy secured yellow box in the lobby…you just go in the door and drop off your drugs – no one needs to help you or anything.
The sign above it outlines these rules: 1. No syringes, 2. Loose pills are OK, 3. Liquid must be in sealed containers only and 4. Powders must be in sealed containers.
This program is run by Pain in the Drain (click here for their website) and they have other Medicine Disposal Drop-Off Locations at the City of Henderson Police Department, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Mesquite Police Department, among other locations (viewable on the PDF map here).
