I had never stopped into the Boulder City Art Guild’s Gallery, so went there a couple of weeks ago to check it out for us and was surprised to find out not only how much art was in there, but how diverse it was. They had everything from acrylics, oils & watercolors to ceramics, photography, pottery, sculptures & limited edition prints.
Turns out they typically have more than 40 artists exhibiting at any given time (explains the variety) and the artists are the ones who staff the gallery 7 days a week, as there are no employees.
They host a variety of art classes, workshops, art shows, and exhibits, with a featured artist at any given time, and have a scholarship program for Southern Nevada students.
They also host special events each year, the next one being the 30th Annual Fine Arts Festival on April 18th & 19th (2015) in Bicentennial Park from 10am – 5pm, so mark your calendars for that if you are an art show/festival lover.
You can check out their website by clicking here or find them on Facebook by clicking here. They have a VERY nice monthly newsletter, too – tons of information in it, so if you’d like to be put on that mailing list, just email them at bcartguild@gmail.com and they can add you.
Wow – a lot of information and stuff coming out of this place I’d never been before, so I’m really glad I did go in!
The Boulder City Art Guild Gallery is located on the Mezzanine Level (2nd floor) of the Boulder Dam Hotel at 1305 Arizona Street, Suite 104. They’re open 7 days a week (Mon-Sat from 10-5 and Sun from 10-3). Enjoy!
