This sounds like a super fun event for the kids this coming Saturday (April 25th, 2015) … they can meet the rangers and their friends Smokey Bear, Rad Tad, Coastie and Mojave Max along with “Bark Rangers” Charlotte and Cooper at National Junior Ranger Day.
Activities include trying on fire gear, exploring the mysteries of archaeology, seeing live reptiles, creating music and art, casting with real fishing rods, playing desert jenga, discovering plants and animals of the area, and so much more! After participating in the various activity stations, then kids of all ages become Junior Rangers for Lake Mead National Recreation Area (a unit of the National Park Service).
The event is this Saturday (4/25/15) from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Boulder Beach Picnic Area and best yet … admission is free! For more information, please call the Lake Mead Visitor Center at 702-293-8990.
