Next Monday, May 21st from 6-8pm at the Elaine K. Smith Center, there will be the third Boulder City Think Tank hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.
In case you didn’t hear about the first two events, let’s recap some basics:
What is a ‘Think Tank’ you ask? It’s defined as “a body of experts providing advice and ideas on specific economic problems.”
With the coming of the Interstate 11 interchange, Jill Lagan, CEO of the Chamber, created the first Think Tank event to bring the community together to brainstorm on what makes Boulder City special, and marketable. With what we’re hearing that the interstate is ahead of schedule and due to be opening sooner than expected, this creates an even greater reason to focus on the community’s efforts to market Boulder City.
Of the meetings held to date, Jill says, “There were lots of great ideas that were taken down, and a variety of action committees were created out of that list. Next week’s event will be a progress report on what’s been accomplished so far as we consolidate those ideas into actionable plans, where possible.” Lot’s of progress has been made so it should be an exciting update for those interested to hear.
She emphasizes that even if you missed the first two Think Tank events, don’t be a stranger at this one – all are welcome!
The Elaine K. Smith Center is located at 700 Wyoming Street.
