The Boulder City Chamber of Commerce will be having their Annual Awards & Board Installation Event this September 21st. And this year, we gotta say they’ve come up with a whole new event within the event that should be total hoot – a Lip Sync Battle!
If you haven’t seen these, they’re all over Facebook as well as TV, like THIS CLIP HERE from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. They’ve been sweeping the country, with police departments taking on their local fire department in head-to-head competitions, talent shows, and of course, are all over social media.
The best part – any group in Boulder City can participate! If your group wants to choose a ‘battle partner’ then even better! But if not, that’s OK too. Each group competing will be paired off against a similar fellow competitor.
There’s just a few rules and regs for you here:
- The musical choice must be family-friendly (PG rated lyrics or below)
- The group performance must have 2 members or above
- Open to all ages – families or children can join in
- Be available for a ‘final rehearsal’ on September 20th
We talked to Jill Lagan, the CEO of the Chamber and she says as they’ve started to talk about this to folks it’s already catching on! She says the Boulder City Chamber has issued a challenge to the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, so battle lines are already being drawn. We can’t wait to see who takes on who in September!
