City Seeks Input from Citizens and Business Owners

Economic Development Workshops Boulder City, NV

The City of Boulder City will be holding a series of two different workshops that are focused on the topic of creating our first ever Economic Development Plan. There is also have a survey they would like everyone to complete. This is a result of the larger City Strategic Plan that was created late last year.

“Moving forward with the creation of the economic development plan is goal C (Manage Growth and Development, Strategy #2) of the city’s strategic plan,” said Raffi Festekjian, Economic Development Coordinator for Boulder City. “It’s an opportunity for the community to provide valuable input and help shape the top economic development priorities for the City of Boulder City. Economic development is a critical component that drives economic growth in our local economy.”

Here is how you can participate:

  1. EVERYONE is encouraged to take this survey HERE. It takes just a few minutes. You’ll answer some key questions and then there is a section for open comments – so let’s make them thoughtful folks!
  2. There will be TWO Workshops lead by UNLV graduate students. Each workshop will work through what is called a S.W.O.T. analysis – that’s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats as they relate to our Boulder City economy. The focus of each of these workshops will be slightly different:

The GENERAL PUBLIC is invited to attend Wednesday, April 24th from 5:30pm  – 7:00pm at the Elaine K. Smith Center (700 Wyoming Street).

The BUSINESS COMMUNITY is invited to attend Monday, May 6th from 5:30pm  – 7:00pm at the Elaine K. Smith Center (700 Wyoming Street).

We’re glad to see that the City is doing this and appreciate their efforts, and also to see that all members of our community can have their voices heard. So be involved by either attending these meetings, and/or filling out the survey. We’ll hope to see a big turnout on all!
