Hah! Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it as ‘Boulder City Social’ though, does it?
The Boulder City/Hoover Dam Museum will host their program called “Third Thursday” tomorrow, May 17th at 6:00pm and this month’s presentation is called “McKeeversville: Ghost Town or Part of Boulder City?” with Dr. Peter Huntoon.
McKeeversville actually pre-dates Boulder City, as it was where some of the first people settled prior to the building of the dam. Originally known as Government Survey Camp Number One, McKeeversville got its name from a government cook who lived there with his family during the actual building of Boulder City.
You can find out more about McKeeversville, where it is within Boulder City and more cool stuff by attending Third Thursday, which will take place in the Segerblom Theatre at the Boulder City/Hoover Dam Museum (inside the Boulder Dam Hotel at 1305 Arizona Street). Please call (702) 294-1988 with any questions.
Initiated in 2009, the Third Thursday Lecture Series is one of the Association’s several educational and cultural programs developed to involve the Boulder City community in topics of historical and regional interest.
