Unfortunate news to report on this morning … Haggen Grocery store has announced on their website yesterday that they WILL be closing all seven of their stores located in Nevada, including the one right here in Boulder City. They will, in fact, be closing all of their stores in California, Nevada and Arizona and focusing solely on their locations in Washington and Oregon.
The process of closing the stores will take place through October and November (at least the first part of it), but the stores will remain open during that time and employees will continue to receive their salaries and benefits.
Some of the Boulder City employees have been with Haggen (and Vons before that) for many, many years and I hope everyone will join me in wishing them every success and assistance with whatever is to come as everything unfolds!
