Dam Short Film Festival Streams Retrospective

The Dam Short Film Society announced a new way to screen some of the most popular film from past festivals: the Nevada Filmmaker Retrospective. The Retrospective, which began November 1 will continue thru November 30. It is available online, as a streaming option! The showcase offers 11 short films across a broad range of genres, to include dramas, comedies, music videos and documentaries from past Dam Short Film Festivals.

“We worked very hard to take our festival online this February and the feedback we received from filmmakers and the audience was incredible,” said Lee Lanier, Dam Short Film Festival Founder and Director of Continuity. “Over 6,300 virtual viewers tuned in to our films and livestream events for a total watch time of over 2,327 years and 10 months!”

The Dam Short Film Festival ranks in the top 1% of more than 10,000 international film festivals and contests according to FilmFreeway – a platform for festivals and filmmakers. Last year, the Las Vegas Review Journal named the Festival Best of Las Vegas Bronze in the category of Best Arts and Culture Event.

Dam Short Film Festival was supported, in part, by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and the state of Nevada. Funding to support this organization has been provided by Nevada Humanities through Congress and the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the CARES Act economic stabilization plan of 2020. The 2022 Nevada FIlmmaker Retrospective is sponsored by Nevada AARP.

This virtual experience offers on-demand access and tickets are only $10! To purchase tickets or find out more information, visit the Festival’s website HERE. The virtual program can be found HERE.

The festival is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and was founded by Lee and Anita Lanier in 2003. For more information visit the Festival’s website at damshortfilm.org; like them on Facebook HERE, follow them on Instagram HERE and on Twitter HERE.
