ARPA Input from Residents Requested

During the his State of the City address two weeks ago, Mayor Kiernan McManus announced that the city had received approximately $21 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding from Congress. In a presentation to the City Council, City Manager Taylour Tedder spoke about the funding being tied to specific types of projects like COVID relief and infrastructure improvements.

The City Council and City Manager are requesting input from residents and business owners to assist them in prioritizing the projects within the City that need attention. To that end, a web page has been set up HERE to gather input from people on the community’s wishes.

“These funds are critical as we recover from the pandemic and make a meaningful, once in a generation, positive impact on the community,” said Taylour Tedder, City Manager of Boulder City. “More than half of the funding has very specific stipulations that we must follow. Making sure our residents have an opportunity to suggest how we allocate funding was important to me and to our City Council. I look forward to hearing ideas from our community.”

The first round of funding was received in 2021 and amounted to $10,886,895. The second round of funding, valued at $10,886,895 is expected in Spring 2022. The funding is limited as follows:

  • $11,773,790 must be spent on ARPA-designated expenditures like supporting non-profits, water infrastructure projects, wastewater infrastructure projects, small business support, pandemic relief, etc.
  • The other $10 million may be spent in any way.

The deadline for submitting ideas is Friday, April 1, 2022. You must be a Boulder City resident to participate in this endeavor. You can email ideas and suggestions by CLICKING HERE or drop off or mail the form to City Hall at 401 California Avenue, Boulder City, NV 89005.
